MORGAN HILL
Morgan Hill is located in the beautiful valley between the Bay Area and the Monterey Bay. With its proximity to San Jose and its ties to agriculture, Morgan Hill blends small town goodness with modern touches. Well-known strawberry fields and farmers' markets are a warm foil for modern movie theaters and well-stocked shopping malls. Morgan Hill contains ten county parks, the second largest California state park, award winning wineries and breweries, many varieties of restaurants, and a lovely downtown area for your afternoon shopping.
In the mid 1700's, Franciscan fathers planted Mission Santa Clara de Asis vineyards. Since that time, Santa Clara Valley vintners have planted, tasted and tried new combinations and techniques. Today, there are over forty wineries producing wines as unique as any produced in California.
Morgan Hill has a diverse array of shopping centers and stores conveniently located throughout the city. The downtown area offers a unique blend of retail stores, restaurants, personal services, banks, other businesses and new architecture.
GILROY
Nestled in the lush Gavilian foothills between the Santa Cruz mountains and the Diablo range, the community of Gilroy serves at the southern gateway to the bountiful Santa Clara Valley. Historically named the "Pleasant Valley," Gilroy enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate and a tranquil beauty that beckons the discriminating traveler.
Drive through Gilroy on a hot summer day and you will smell first-hand why we are known as the "Garlic Capital of the World." Gilroy lives up to its reputation, too. Surrounded by fields of the famous bulb, the city also features several garlic shops and processing plants. Restaurants and shops throughout the town feature the "Stinking rose" and other produce year-round.
Located amidst breathtaking panoramas of countryside and rolling hills, Gilroy's charming and intimate wineries provide visitors with a chance to explore picturesque backroads not usually seen by those outside the area.
Stroll through our town and you will see historical houses and dotting tree-lined streets. In Gilroy's historic downtown, you will find quaint shops and three community theater companies. Whimsical murals grace the fronts of many of the turn-of-the-century buildings. Visitors enjoy the wonderful blend of old fashioned congeniality and personal service.
